Boo!!

OK, I know I've mentioned it sometimes takes me a few days to make one card. You wanna know the problem with this? On Day 1 I have a *great* idea for a card, or for an element of the card, & by the time I get around to actually putting it together, I've forgotten about it!!

When I had this card in my head, I had wanted to use the Drippy Goo punch for the orange strip. I haven't gotten to use that baby yet!! When I put the card together today, I automatically reached for my Web punch instead. Apparently, I'm playing favorites with my punches. Of course, I had it all glued together & finished when I slapped my forehead & thought "Doh!!!! I used the wrong punch!" Sheesh!! Well, I'm sure there are many more Halloween cards in my future, so everyone will get a chance to play!

I had a few other problems with this card as well, but I won't go into them. I do love this Fluffles image & in the end it turned out ok! His ghost costume is cut out & popped up.....the image is colored with Copics....the papers are SU's Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, & heck, the pattern papers are so old I have no idea who makes them! LOL!! These are the last scraps I have of these......I've used just about all the Halloween papers in my possession!! The image was cut out with my Labels 4 Nestabilities. The ribbon was giving me fits as I was trying to tie the bow.....so I ended up simply sticking a pumpkin brad in the middle of it, lol!

Here's a close up.....that little mouse is just too cute!!

ETA: You can now buy this image in cling form at 7 Kids College Fund.....HERE IS THE LINK!

Well tomorrow is the first day of school. I'm having serious anxiety & I don't know why. My kids are fine.....but I'm breaking out in hives. I'm sure once they're on the bus, & I'm back home in a silent house I will be just fine :) I just received my Magnolia Fall Kit today (which, if you missed out, you can preorder from 7 Kids College Fund HERE) so I'm going to play with those a bit tomorrow, plus start a little project I've wanted to do for a while, but haven't found the time to actually start! So all will be good :)

Hugs & Kisses Tilda

Good morning & Happy Saturday to all!! It is FREEZING here this morning...not even 60 degrees!! Brrrrr.....at this rate we'll have snow falling by the end of September!!

It seems like it takes me forever & a day to create a card lately. I have a long list of projects to work on & I have never been so putzy!! This week has been all about getting ready for school. The shopping, the Open House, all the forms to fill out, more shopping because we forgot something....it's pure chaos & school hasn't even started yet!! If this is a preview of the coming year, I'm in trouble!!

So today's card (which I started 3 days ago) is made with one of my very first Tildas. When I bought the Pumpkin Tilda that I used on THIS CARD, I also bought the 2 Cherry Tildas. And what luck that the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad has some paper with cherries in it!! I used SU's Purely Pomegranate for the matte.....the flower is made up of the Cuttlebug scalloped circle dies, & the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels set. The little cherry charm is from Ebay.....had to buy those after I bought the Cherry Tildas, lol.

The usual close up :)

Here's a pic of the inside. I had been searching for the Sizzlits strawberry die, which has been discontinued. I found it on Ebay, & the same seller was selling this cherry die. Apparently I love fruit, lol, so I bought both of them. Added chalk ink for a bit of highlights....I think it's the perfect touch :)

You can find Cherry Tilda & the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad at 7 Kids College Fund. You can also preorder the NEW Basic Grey papers! She has amazing prices & service!! I think I'll just take one of everything :)

And for those of you who so loved my picture of the walking stick the other day, here's another creature hanging on our patio door. I swear if it weren't for this door, we wouldn't see half the stuff we do!! This cicada has been hanging out for a few days. He's alive, I checked, lol. He just really wants to come into our house. He doesn't realize we have 2 big ole tabbies who would probably have him for a snack!

Hope you all have a great weekend!! Thanks for visiting, & don't forget to enter my blog candy above!!!

Witchy Fluffles

Clearly I am done with summer, at least as far as crafting, because all I seem to be capable of making lately are fall & Halloween cards!! Can't help it....I just love the colors....& all the fun images.....like this one!!

I just adore Fluffles....I think I have all of them, lol. I colored this cutie with my Prismas & gamsol & used lots of oval Nesties to cut it out. The papers are SU's Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore & the pattern papers are Doodlebug. I bought them a couple of years ago & these were my last little schnibblies. I'm sure they are long discontinued, & the wonderful scrap store I bought them at closed earlier this year. I will miss them.....**sniff*..... I used my Martha punches....the web border, the web corner (under the flowers), & last year's bat. I added Harvest Orange Glimmer Mist to everything. At first I just sprayed the image, but then the background papers looked too white so I just spritzed them too! Can't have too much Glimmer Mist in my opinion!

A close up of the impish Fluffles...

A pic of the inside....nothing special....just used the same papers, Nesties & I stitched the edges.

And lastly, for your enjoyment, a picture of a little visitor we had on our patio door.......

It was really hard to get a good picture because of the glare of the door. He was actually more green. We usually get a lot of walking sticks during the summer, but this was the first one I saw this year. We usually get tree toads clinging to our door too, but I haven't seen any of those this year. It's been a crazy summer as far as the weather goes, so maybe that has something to do with the lack of critter visits!

Thanks for all the congrats yesterday regarding my dt position for 7 Kids College Fund! Tab has an amazing store & I'm so completely honored that she asked me!! I've been walking around with a silly grin on my face ever since, lol!!

Enjoy the rest of your week!! We have our Open House at school tonight, when we meet the teachers, drop off supplies & get pictures taken. School starts next Tuesday. I am so ready & despite what they say, I'm pretty sure my kids are too!!

Exciting news!!!!!

Could ya hear me screaming from where you are???? I am so excited.....I have been asked to join the 7 Kids College Fund design team!!!! I was floored when Tab asked me, & I'm still in shock!! I've been buying from her since she had her store on Ebay. She offers so many products at great prices, & such great customer service, that I am truly honored to be a part of her amazing team. If you have been living on Mars & have never been to her store, click HERE to check it out!!!

Thank you so much, Tab!!! You have truly made my day, week, month, year......can you tell I'm over the moon?? LOL!!

Busy busy!!

Wow!! I am so sorry for the lack of posts!! Seems we are busier than ever, trying to squeeze in the last bit of summer into these next couple of weeks before school starts!! We've been school shopping (& more school shopping, & more school shopping), to the beach, to various birthday parties & play dates, to the library......guess I'd better get used to it because we'll be even busier when school starts. My husband is still working 2nd shift, which means it's up to me to cart the boys around to their various activities!

Anyway.....on to the card. This was supposed to be for last week's Friday Sketchers.....but OOPS!! Missed it!! A day late & a dollar short....story of my life :)

Since it's feeling like fall here lately, I decided to make a card using this adorable High Hopes stamp, Guard Duty Rudy. There are two versions....one's a bit smaller than the other...which is the one I used here (the card is 5.5 x 5.5 to give you an idea of the size). I colored him with Prismas & gamsol, & once again sprayed the image with Caramel Apple Glimmer Mist when I was finished. The sentiment is from Whipper Snapper.....I used my new Martha leaf border punch.....the papers are SU's Chocolate Chip & Fancy Pants All Fall. I had to move the sentiment to the corner....on the FS sketch it was on the side of the image...but it didn't fit...but since I was late it doesn't really matter, does it? LOL!

Close up of Rudy.....

Well that's it, short & sweet. I need to make some Zucchini Pineapple bread....oooo....maybe that will be next week's recipe.....then get Michael ready for yet another birthday party. Tonight he gets to go golfing! That kid's social calendar is way more full than mine!!

Is it Halloween already??

Because it sure feels like August here! It's only about 80 but boy, is it icky sticky humid!!

Finally had time to make a card after a very busy week. Michael's party on Friday was a huge success....the kids all left laughing & sweating & red in the face from running around, so they must have had fun :) Saturday was catch up/recuperation day & yesterday we visited my grandma, who is home again after yet another hospital visit.

I was stamping this cutie for a friend recently & realized I hadn't used her myself since....well probably this time last year!! She was my very first Magnolia.....and so it began....my addiction to these adorable stamps! You can find her HERE!!She's colored with Prismas & gamsol......I won't tell you HOW MANY TIMES I colored her, because I kept dropping things on the image *after* I had colored it. I paper pieced her dress with some paper from a Debbie Mumm pad I bought last year. The striped paper is from Reminisce....& the matting is SU's Basic Black & Pumpkin Pie. As you can see I used my new Martha web border punch :) I was actually wishing I had bought the pumpkin border punch....would have gone better with this card....but I wasn't about to run to Michael's to get it, lol. The web will have to do. Lots of Primas & leaves....some sewing....a cute glittery black spider (because all spiders shimmer, right?) & the finishing touch was a spritz of Caramel Apple Glimmer Mist. Ohhhhh.......how I *love* this color!! For the past year, the only GM I had was Iridescent Gold. Then I saw they were coming out with a bunch of Limited Edition colors for fall. LIMITED EDITION????? Does anyone know the shelf life of Glimmer Mist? Because I want to stock up!!! I must have this for the rest of my natural born stamping life!! It's just gorgeous!!

Here's a close up....not sure if you can see the Glimmer Mist or not....maybe if you click on the picture??

I didn't finish the inside yet.....I wanted to get this on my blog as quickly as I could since I hadn't posted for a few days....but I will finish it ASAP because I want to get it on Ebay by tomorrow. Halloween cards seem to be quite popular right now!! I tell ya, those buyers are more on the ball than I am!!

My shimmery spider :) Now who could be afraid of a spider that glimmers? LOL!

Thanks so much for visiting!! We only have 2 weeks of summer vacation left & we still have lots of stuff to do!! It's going to fly by......pretty soon it *will* be Halloween!!!

He loves me...

Well it's been a long week!! I've been sick for most of it.....sometime Monday I developed the worst headache, & knowing we were planning on going to the State Fair on Tuesday I took lots of aspirin & went to bed as early as possible. I still had it Tuesday, along with some nausea that was forming. We still went, & had a good time for the most part. The boys had a blast & that's really all that matters. They rode all the rides, ate tons of food (including the new-this-year chocolate covered bacon on a stick) & saw all the animals. We definitely saved money this year as I barely ate anything...so unlike me, lol. We were there a total of 10 hours.....a very long day for me indeed!! I spent the day yesterday recuperating, & today I am finally starting to feel better. Which is a good thing, because Michael's birthday party is tomorrow night & I've been running around like a crazy person today trying to get everything ready.

But I did take time out to work on a card. I'm determined to use all the summer Magnolias that Susan sent me before the snow falls, lol!!

I don't know, I feel like all my cards look alike lately, lol. This Tilda is colored with Prismas & gamsol, cut out & popped onto the Nestie. The burgundy paper is Bazzill Swiss Dots (from the 8x8 pack I bought at Michael's), the green paper is Bazzill Guacamole, & the dp is K&Co Madeline. The flowers are punched from the same papers, as are the butterflies (punched twice with the MS punch....once using the Bazzill Dots & once using the K&Co....glued them together & added 3 rhinestones).

I was trying to show the layers of the butterfly, but this picture looks really washed out to me. Sorry! It's a weird time of day...the worst for trying to get good pics.

That's it from me for a few days.....tomorrow will be finishing up preparations for the party....Saturday will be recuperating, lol.....& Sunday I hope to see my grandma. She just got home from yet another hospital stay & we all really want to visit with her.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Chilaxin' hedgie

Happy Saturday everyone!! I hope your weekend is going well!! It's sunny & hot here after a few storms overnight & this morning. Now it's just *muggy*! Ick!

For today's card I dug out an oldie but a goodie. I recently realized how rarely I use my Penny Black stamps these days, so I went through my bin & found this cutie!! I just love the hedgies....& this one really knows how to relax....er....CHILAX! The sentiment is from High Hopes & I use it a LOT! I colored the image with my Copic markers....yes, AGAIN! The papers are Basic Grey Lemonade....& I used my new Martha Stewart loop punches. I bought a few punches last week....all with the many 50% off coupons I had. I also got the sought after Drippy Goo & Icicle punches! I can't wait to use them!! For the flowers I stamped SU's French Script background using Colorbox Lime Pastel ink, then punched them with my Martha Stewart punch (I think it's the cornflower??). The bottom looked lonely so I added a few pink pearls.

I just love the little hedgie's face!!!

From this angle you can see my popped up flower. No, I didn't make a mistake....lol...I actually planned that!

Thanks for visiting, & enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Stylish Tilda

Good Thursday everyone!! Oh geez.......Thursday......I forgot a recipe AGAIN this week! Oh well, you'd rather see a card, right??

A couple of weeks ago I told you about the wonderful ELAINE, who so very kindly sent me 4 Rachelle Anne Miller stamps after reading that I didn't own any. THEN she sent me 5......count 'em .....FIVE....brand new Magnolia stamps!!! To say she spoils me would be an understatement!! I finally got to use one of those adorable Magnolias she sent me!!

Here is Stylish Tilda. I'd say she's my favorite, but probably just for today :) Tomorrow it will be whichever one I ink up next, lol. I colored her with Prismas & gamsol, & added a bit of sparkle to her wings with my Copic clear glitter pen. The papers are Bazzill Bling Red Carpet (I think this is my most used color of Bling) & Emerald, & K&Co Margo. I bought 3 pads of the Margo when they were on sale a while back, & they're almost GONE!!! I just love the rich colors! The flowers are a Cuttlebug die, the leaves are a Martha punch & the little "friend" tag is from a *huge* container of tags I bought at Michael's about a year ago. I'd better slow down....I only have about 989 left in the container, lol. Seriously, I paid about $6 & got about 1000 tags, lol!

Here's a close up of Miss Tilda. I want a hat like hers :)

I did decorate the inside, but it turned out blurry & I was too lazy to retake the pic, lol. You'll just have to take my word for it.....it matches the front!

We had a great day yesterday celebrating Michael's birthday. I took them to see Harry Potter, which was very........lonnngggggg. Almost 3 hours! Yikes! Why didn't somebody tell me!?! My back was aching!! I always thought the theater seats were comfy....but I don't think I've ever sat in one for that long!! As I said I'm not much of a Harry fan.....I've seen enough bits & pieces of previous movies to know the main characters....& I did cry when ***** died. What??? There could be one or two people who haven't seen it yet!!!!!! I don't want to be the one who spoiled it (speaking of which....there was a trailer for the New Moon movie. Now, I'm about 1/3 of the way through the book. I'm reading another book at the same time, so it's taking me a while. TALK ABOUT A SPOILER!!!!!! In the trailer they showed something very significant about someone, & I HADN'T READ THAT PART YET!!!! Grrrrrrrrr.....guess that's what I get for being so slow!) Anyway, the movie was good, but very long. Michael got quite antsy toward the end. Heck, *I* got antsy toward the end, lol!! Anyway, we went shopping after, ate a bunch of greasy junk for dinner & had cake. A good day indeed. His birthday party with his friends isn't until next week Friday.....the celebration continues!!!!

I know I'm being long winded....but I also wanted to mention that I was recently asked to join an AMAZING group of paper craft sellers on Ebay! The name of the group is The Paper Hen House, or TPHH. You can see their auctions HERE (including mine now, too!!!). I'm sure you've seen those wonderful scrap layouts....with all the punches....& the tear bears....the ones that fetch big bucks. They do those!! I admire every one of these sellers, & I'm honored to be a part of their group!!!

Ok, that's enough yapping!!! If you are still reading...thank you!! LOL!! I appreciate each & every one of you!!!!

My first Doraline!!

Hello everyone....hope your week is going well!! We had a great time at my mom's yesterday celebrating my grandma's & Michael's birthdays. I still can't believe my grandma is 90!! Gosh, I hope I have at least a few of her genes!

Lookie what I got my hands on!!! Some Motivet images!!! My good friend Ila recently sent me a whole envelope full of fun images & this was one of them!! Click on Ila's name to get to her fabulous blog....although if you don't know who Ila is, or have never been to her blog, you have clearly been living in a cave!

It took me a while to decide which to use first!! But I knew I wanted to use one of my new Basic Grey pads so I picked this Doraline.....I knew she would fit well with some of the Junebug papers. I colored her with Prismas & gamsol & used my Blossom Nesties to cut her out (new purchase from LSS....it's ok....I had a coupon!! LOL!!). I used SU's Wild Wasabi for the matte, my Martha Lattice punch on the polka dot paper, & added some white tulle. I also used a bit of Shimmerz on the green Prima but as usual I couldn't get a good picture of the shimmer.

Here's a close up of Doraline.....I also don't think I captured the glitter on her shirt....sigh....I will never be an A-1 photographer! LOL!

Here's a picture of the inside, carrying through some of the elements from the front.

As you know I list my cards on Ebay, so not only do I always finish off my insides, I also make my own envelopes. My cards usually have a lot of embellishments & layers on them, so I usually make an envelo-box, which is a 1/4" thick envelope. Less smooshing that way!! I use the Enveloper, which I highly recommend!! You can see this contraption HERE. It takes me mere minutes to put one together. Cut your paper, score on the lines, & glue it together!! I always line mine with papers to match the card. Then I use an envelope glue on the flap, & voila.....all ready for Ebay!!

Tomorrow is Michael's birthday....my baby turns 7!! To celebrate, I think I will take them to see Harry Potter. I refused to go the first week....but I'm sure by now the hype has died at least a bit! I'm not a Harry fan, but both my kids are & they are so excited to see it!!

Thanks for visiting & have a great night!!

High Hopes challenge #42

Good morning, everyone, & happy Sunday!! Time for another High Hopes challenge!! Today's challenge is Go for the Gold.....to use gold somewhere on your card. It can be gold papers, gold embellishments, gold embossing.....if it's gold, use it!!!

Today's card features an oldie but a goodie......Santa's Helper. I've used this mouse quite often....he's cute & he's quick to color!!! I once again used my Copics.....I KNOW!!!! That's like 3 times this week!!!!! I used glitter on his hat & clear embossed the cup. Lots of Nestie layers & poinsettias (with gold brads in the centers, of course). I added gold cord over the red ribbon, & gold baubles to the corners. I was really wishing I had gold thread to stitch around the outside, but I didn't so I had to use red. The papers are SU's Real Red & PTI white, & the striped paper is from a HUGE pad of Provocraft Christmas paper I picked up one year on clearance after the holidays. I will not live long enough to use all the papers in this stack.....there has to be 200 papers!!! Good thing I make lots of Christmas cards!!

Here's a closeup of the mouse.....isn't he a cutie?? Funny, the mice I see in our garage aren't this cute. Of course, they're not wearing Santa hats either!!

Here's another angle so you can see the embossed cup & hopefully the glitter. I have a tough time photographing red so you may have to use your imagination a bit :)

Be sure to check out what the other Divas have created HERE. As always, if you play along & link your card, you have a chance to win some High Hopes goodies!!

Enjoy your day!! Mine consists of shopping for my grandma's birthday present (90 year olds are HARD to shop for!!), making dessert for tomorrow's celebration, & hopefully getting outside since it looks like it's going to be another nice day! Have a great week & thanks for visiting!
