More High Hopes coming to 7 Kids!!

Hello all & Happy Saturday!! Have you recovered from your Black Friday shopping?? You people are crazy, lol!! So many of my friends went very late Thursday or early early Friday to stand in line. I would have liked a new tv....they had 32" LCD tv's at a few different stores for $248.....but guess what....they sold out RIGHT AWAY. I would be very very sad if I stood in line....in the cold....for that long...to not even get what I came for!!

ANYWAY.....I wanted to let you know that Tab has added some High Hopes stamps to the store as preorders! Click HERE to see the latest additions!! I have posted some cards that I've made in the past with just a few of these ADORABLE images!!!!

If you have any questions about these cards let me know....otherwise....happy shopping!!!!

Rachelle Anne Miller moose

Happy day-before-Thanksgiving!!! Are you all busy cooking & cleaning today?? We are going to mom's so my only responsibility is dessert. I am making a banana split cheesecake....this will be the first time I'm making it so we'll need to taste test it before I post the recipe here :)

I was so excited when I saw this Rachelle Anne Miller moose at 7 Kids College Fund. I had tried to get it earlier this year, but couldn't find it!! This & a few others will be in the store for I believe a limited time, so if you want 'em, go get 'em!!

As anxious as I was to use this cutie, there are days I just shouldn't be allowed near my stamping table. Yesterday was one of them. Good grief, I colored this image 3 different times before I was happy with it! I'm still not 100% thrilled with it, but I just didn't have it in me to do it a 4th time, lol!! Good thing he's so cute....maybe you won't notice my mess-ups!!

He's colored with Prismas & gamsol.....& I added Crystal Effects to the lights. The papers are SU's Real Red (I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink because the red was just too bright!) & Basic Grey Mistletoe & Pear, a limited edition line from last year. I used the layout from Papertake Weekly.....from LAST week, lol....good thing this week's challenge is make a Christmas card so I can still enter it!! The corners are Cuttlebug dies......I really wanted to add something to the corners of the red layer but nothing looked right.....so it's a bit of a simple card!

Not sure if you can see the CE on the lights on this photo or not...that red again....& after Xmas cards will be Valentines Day cards so I'd better get a handle on how to photograph red sometime soon!!

I hope you all have a fabulous Turkey Day!! I cannot wait to eat!! I love to eat!! Oh yeah, & spending time with family is important too, lol.....but I still love to eat :)

Oh, my friend asked me if I wanted to go shopping with her on Friday. Early. Um......I DON'T do early, & I DEFINITELY don't do shopping on Black Friday!!! Do you?? Lots of deals out there, if you can bear the crowds. I'm not generally claustrophobic, but I have a feeling I would not do well with all those thousands of people!!

Flower soft Tilda

Hello again! I hope your Monday is going well!! I don't seem to be getting a whole lot done...I seem to be bouncing back & forth between stamping & farming (if you're on Facebook you will know what I am talking about, lol). I did get a ton of Xmas bins upstairs....I didn't take anything out yet....but getting them out of storage is the hardest part!

I received my latest order from 7 Kids College Fund on Saturday, & one of the things I ordered was the Vintage Christmas Flower Soft. I am a Flower Soft virgin. Well, I WAS ....until this card.....

I knew when I ordered it that I was going to use it with this Tilda.....Tilda with Flowers....from the Chasing Butterflies collection. I was surprised by the texture....it's kind of plastic-y....I was expecting it to be...well, SOFTER. But I do like the effect. Definitely different.

Tilda is colored with Prismas & gamsol & cut out....the sentiment is from Hero Arts.....& the papers are K&Company Christmas Cheer. I kept it quite simple, but I did have to add the 4 gold baubles in the corners.

I don't know if I'm going to sell this card or not.....not quite sure how Flower Soft travels, lol. I may have to mail it to myself to see how it holds up :)

All in all I do like it & let's be honest.....I will have to get ALL the colors. Flower Soft comes in single colors, mixed colors, & even boxed collections. You can check them out HERE ....

Enoy the rest of the day.....I'm off to do something productive.......really I am......

More new stuff at 7 Kids!!!!

Good Monday morning everyone!!! I am so glad we only have 2 days of school this week.....so much to do before Thursday.....& I'm not even hosting Thanksgiving!!

I wanted to post about all the fun stuff Tab has added to her store!!

Click HERE to see all the new product added to 7 Kids College Fund!!!!

Some of the new stuff include Sizzix Impressions embossing folders (how cute are those Build A Bear & Hello Kitty folders??), some new Stampendous clear stamps, the new Shimmerz colors (except Licorice & Rock-A-Fella), & some Sakura gelly roll pens. She's also added some Toner & Neutral gray Copics to add to your ever-growing collection (oh yes it IS too growing! Admit it!!)

The store is constantly being updated with new stuff, so be sure to bookmark it!! She has everything you need at amazing prices!!

I hope to be back later with a card I started yesterday. It was so nice out that we ended up spending the entire day outside playing! Imagine....riding our bikes in November with no jackets on!! It makes winter a lot more bearable for me when the snow doesn't start falling until December!!

High Hopes challenge #54 ~ SANTA!!

Good morning!! Time for another High Hopes challenge!! This week our hostess is our guest Diva Michelle! She is asking us to use a Santa image on our card.

I chose Tropical Santa for my card.....remember you can now order High Hopes stamps from 7 Kids College Fund. And if you don't see what you are looking for, let Tab know & she will special order it! In fact, she is taking orders RIGHT NOW .....if you have an order please CHECK OUT THIS POST for instructions....you can order until Monday, November 23rd!

Ok, back to the card!! I colored Mr. Claus with Prismas & gamsol.....using oranges & blues since he's on the beach relaxing.....he's thinking "enough of that red & green crap"....lol....so of course his hat is orange & his candy cane is orange & that goes against everything Christmas....but hey I had to make it all match!! I did sponge the sand & sky, but I should have done it a bit darker....it didn't really show up in my picture. If it's not the reds giving me trouble, it's something else I tell ya!! The papers are Basic Grey Ambrosia....the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink....& the swirls are Quickutz.

I clear embossed his glasses, glass & candy cane....used Fun Flock on his hat.....& gave him a little sunburn...Santa forgot his SPF40!!

Please check out the High Hopes blog to see what everyone else came up with!! And as always, if you play along you can be entered to win a little HH goodie!!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!! The weather has been fabulous here....perfect for delivering all those wreaths our neighbors ordered through Scouts!! And I may even get some Xmas lights up outside. That's usually hubby's job, but he always complains about it & I always learn a few new words when he does it.....sometimes it's better to just do it myself! I've heard the LED lights are FAB so I'm going to go get some of those! Our neighbors used them for the first time last year & he said not only can you string a whole bunch together without blowing a fuse....but they are brighter & use wayyyyyyy less electricity. I'm all for that!!!

Sugar Bowl sketch

Quick post today....hubby just left for an entire week Up North & I have GOBS to do!! But I wanted to share this card I just finished.....

I *heart* Fluffles & just yesterday dug out all my Xmas stamps with the devious little furball. I colored him with Prismas.....& used the sketch from this week's Sugar Bowl challenge. The papers are SU's Riding Hood Red (yes, again!!) & Basic Grey's Figgy. The option for the challenge was to use zig zags somewhere on your card.....so I used my Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch. Added lots of glitter.....some clear embossing on the ornaments....& made my own Dew Drops since I didn't have the right color. When I need to customize....I use the clear baubles from Michael's .....HUGE bag for a couple of bucks.....punch CS with my 1/4" hole punch....& glue it on. In this case I used Stickles to glue them for some added sparkle!

Hopefully you can see all the sparkle & shiny ornaments in this picture.....but it's that dreaded red color again....we just don't get along!!

My sparkly faux Dew Drops.....

OK, I'm off to bake some banana bread before the boys get home .....& I have GOT to take down my Halloween stuff, lol!!! I always figure it's fall-ish.....& it IS still fall, right?? But my kids see Christmas lights & decorations in our neighborhood, & think we are way behind. I may as well leave all my Xmas stuff up next year....that way I will be ahead :)

HH challenge #53

Well, only 2 days late, lol!! I swear the challenge for me is getting it done on time!!

As you may recall, the High Hopes challenge from Sunday was a recipe.....we were to use 3 flowers, 2 brads & a sentiment.

I used the adorable Holly the Winter Fairy, along with the Fairy Merry Christmas sentiment (remember you can now order High Hopes from 7 Kids College Fund.....if it's not listed in the store, be sure to email Tab & she will special order it with her next order!). She's colored with Prismas & gamsol.... & I added LOTS of sparkly glitter to her wings. The papers are SU's Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, & K&Company's Peppermint Twist. The RHR oval was embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder, & the green strip was punched with my Martha Stewart Icicle punch.

My pictures look funny. It was very overcast by the time I got around to taking the photos, so I used my (homemade....complete with a paper towel covering, lol) light box. Turned out better than the pics I took by the patio door.....but they still look off. I need to take a photography class JUST so I can learn how to photograph red!!

Thanks so much for being patient with me!! I hope you have a fabulous week....can you believe Thanksgiving is just over a week away???? Eeeeeek!!!! Time for my anxiety attack to begin!!!

Sketch Saturday #76

Hello & Happy Wednesday!! Hope your weather is as beautiful as ours! Hard to believe the holiday season is just about upon us, & it's been sunny & 50-60 degrees the last few days!!

I rarely get to participate in challenges....even though I subscribe to numerous challenge blogs. I don't even get around to High Hopes *every* week....tsk!! But this week when I saw the Sketch Saturday sketch I knew I wanted to play & I ever knew what image I wanted to use!!

I received this Tilda with Puppy stamp from 7 Kids College Fund recently & couldn't wait to ink it up!! I've had my eye on this cutie since the first day I saw it, many many months ago, & *finally* got to order it! Here's a sad but true funny for ya.......I stamped the image, was almost done coloring it with my Prismas, when I slapped my forehead & yelled "CRAP!!!!" I had wanted to use Distress Inks to color it!! LOL!! I'm so used to grabbing my pencils that I didn't even think about it until I happened to spy my little cup of water & that's when I remembered. So yes, I scrapped the almost-fnished image & started over!! When I get an idea in my head there's no changing it ~ I wanted to watercolor this image so that's what I did!! Which always takes me forever......because I'm not very good at it.....but today I felt like I was working on this card for days, lol!!

So I did use my Distress Inks......& the papers are SU's Riding Hood Red & K&Company's Wild Raspberry......2 of my favorites that I will never be able to get my hands on again!! At least I don't think I can get the Wild Raspberry anymore....they are constanly coming out with new packs so I'm sure they "retire" the older ones. Good thing I bought 3 packs, lol!!

I used my Oval Nesties to cut the image out....I used my Martha doily lace border punch on the RHR layer & the Vanilla layer (you probably can't even see the Vanilla layer.....I didn't want to cover any more of the dotted paper so it's just peeking out a bit).....& finished it off with some RHR ribbon & some Primas.

EDITED ~ Oh my goodness, I forgot to color her little hair thingies!!! LOL! Yeah, I know, you probably didn't even notice.....but in case you did I wanted you to know I remedied the situation!!! A girl can't have bare hair thingies!!

Thanks so much for visiting.....Happy Veteran's Day to all (Rememberance Day to my Canada friends) & THANK YOU!!!!!

High Hopes challenge #51 ~ a sketch!!

Good morning everyone!! It was a gorgeous day yesterday, sunny & about 65 degrees & it looks like today is going to be just as beautiful!! Mother Nature is giving us one last chance to get those outside chores done!!

For this week's High Hopes challenge, we have a sketch created by Lacey. I love sketches....I don't have to think too hard, although the card still seems to take me just as long to make!

Here is the sketch....

And here is my card.....

I used Mooshie Steals A Kiss, one from the last release that I hadn't gotten to ink up before now!! I love the High Hopes moose!! The image is colored with Prismas & gamsol, & I sponged the edges a bit with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen. The papers are SU's Riding Hood Red, DCWV (the olive paper) & DCWV Christmas Stack from a few years ago. The Riding Hood Red layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder.....I added 3 brads to the bottom....& some Primas & punched leaves to the corner.

Hopefully you can see the Fun Flock in this close up.....I used it on Mooshie's scarf, coat fur & socks (or are those fur lined boots??)

I hope you get a chance to play with this fabulous sketch!! If you do, link your card to the High Hopes blog & you'll be entered to win some High Hopes goodness!!

Hope you all have a great week!! Enjoy this weather....we all know it's not going to last!!

Wassailing......

****see below for my happy edit :)****

Hello & Happy Hump Day!! Ok, I know I said I was grateful I had my old camera, since my newer one is not working.....but OH MY GOSH!!!! I spent more time trying to get one good picture of this card, than it took for me to make the card!! I always have a hard time with red.....throw in a moldie oldie camera and....well I am irritated to say the least!!!!

Please use your imagination.....the card looks much better IRL than it does in this photo!! And I couldn't even get my usual close up of Tilda.....the camera just wouldn't cooperate :(

Anyway....I used Tilda with Sled. I don't know if that's her official name, but that's what I call her!! My good friend Dawn sent me this stamp last year & I just love it!! I had always loved the Magnolias but I think this was the first actual stamp I owned!! She's colored with Prismas & gamsol.....& I used lots of glitter & Liquid Applique!! The papers are SU's Always Artichoke & Basic Grey Wassail. I hope I can still get this paper....I need more!! It's one of my all time favorite Basic Grey....so pretty for the holidays!! I added a snowflake made with my Spellbinders......& some silver cord with a silver snowflake charm!

Don't forget all the fun stuff coming in at 7 Kids College Fund!! She just received another order of High Hopes stamps, plus you can now order the new Slapstick stamps from Penny Black!! And don't forget to preorder the In 2 Stamps & the Christmas Magnolias!!! Too many stamps, too little time & money, lol!!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!!!

*****edited****

OMG!!!! I fixed my camera!!!! I pushed on the zoom & turned it on & off & on & off....hey, it couldn't hurt, right? Something clicked & VOILA......it started working!!!!!! So I retook the pictures.....got a close up this time....still have a problem with my reds but this picture is soooo much better!!!! Thanks for listening to me whine & complain!!!!

High Hopes challenge 51 ~ snowflakes

Good morning everyone, & happy Sunday!! I'm so glad I was able to join in this week's High Hopes challenge .....to use SNOWFLAKES!! Funny thing is, I made & posted Friday's card before I ever even looked at today's challenge. Well, darn it all anyway, that card would have worked perfectly, lol!! That'll teach me to look at the challenge at the beginning of the week, rather than the day before!!

So I did another card! After finding this Basic Grey paper in my stash (from the Mistletoe & Pear pad, a limited collection from last year that I believe was only available from Michael's), I decided to use the beautiful Herald Angel. She's colored with Prismas & gamsol, with LOTS of glitter on her wings & horn. I cut her out using the Nesties Labels 2 dies. Did some stitching....added some ribbon to cover up the lousy stitching....& added the snowflake in the corner. The bottom 2 layers of flake were made with the Nesties snowflake dies....& the top blue layer was punched with the Martha Stewart Arctic snowflake punch. I then sprayed the whole flake with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.

****sorry for the bad pics......still trying to get used to my "new" (old) camera****

Hopefully you can see the glitter in this picture.....

...and the gold Glimmer Mist in this one.....the snowflake is sparkly pretty, just like a real one. Ok, so most real snowflakes aren't green & blue, but they do sparkle!!

Be sure to check out the challenge & the other Divas creations on the High Hopes blog. If you make a challenge card, be sure to link it in the comments section so you can be eligible to win a High Hopes goodie!!

Here's a picture of my goofy kids yesterday before we went Trick or Treating. Matthew is supposed to be Mickey Mantle....that's who he had to dress up as for school on Wednesday so I guess it was good enough to go T or T'ing. Half his costume is missing, but I told him that was fine because we had to wear our winter coats & hats!!! Oh my freezing goodness, it was cold! I'm glad ours was during the day...most of the communities around here had theirs at night. There was not enough hot chocolate in the whole town to warm us up when we got home!! But they had fun! And I hope you did too!! Can you believe it's November now???? And so the crazy holiday season begins........

Have a great Sunday.......I will be back later to pick a BLOG CANDY winner!!!!
