Another EASY PEASY recipe!

Remember way back, when I had the idea that I was going to post a fun & simple recipe EVERY WEEK? Ha......well that's gone as well as blogging every day!! My intentions are there, the recipes are there ..... sadly the time is not.

BUT I wanted to share this recipe with you that I tried a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get a photo before the cookies were all gone, so I borrowed the one above from Taste of Home I'm sure they won't mind, lol). Best food magazine ever!! Here is the recipe that I found in their Simple & Delicious magazine --they were definitely simple, & they must have been delicious because they were gone in about 12 hours!

PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL COOKIES

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions
  • In a small bowl, cream peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add oats and baking soda to creamed mixture; mix well.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets; flatten slightly. Bake at 350° for 6-8 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 2 dozen.

I actually didn't even get 2 dozen, only about 16 --which is why they were gone so quickly! Iwill definitely make more next time now that I know they are a hit!! They were so quick to make --perfect for a last minute treat!! Let me know if you try them --I love when my friends try something I recommend!

Thankfully I have off of work tomorrow. My kids are off today & tomorrow for teachers convention & I decided tomorrow is going to be a day of FUN. Not sure yet what we'll do --I had thought about the zoo, but the weather hasn't been zoo friendly this week. We will find something to do -even if it's just hanging out at the mall --as long as I'm with my offspring I'm happy :)

And PS --I have recently listed some charms for sale in my Etsy shop --I will be adding more next week, & as time goes on I am hoping to stock my shop with lots of different goodies. Thanks to all my friends & customers for your continued support!

Hanglar witch

I know what you're thinking!! 2 cards in one week --HOLY CRAP!! Well Halloween is my most favorite time of year to make cards & I didn't do nearly as many as I wanted to. And since I don't want to still be making them AFTER Halloween I figured I'd better get my behind in gear!

Everyone knows how much I looooooove Hanglars! I recently was able to purchase one --my very first one, so exciting!! Not this one. This one came from a friend last year who sent me a bunch of Hanglar images. I colored her with Prismas & cut her out, figuring she's look spooky perfect with this paper from Basic Grey. Wow those bats eyes are kinda creepy, lol. They do look ok in person.....but now I may not be able to sleep tonight (well I don't sleep ANY night, but not usually because of glowing bat eyes LOL)

I couldn't get a good photo --the Hanglar looks washed out but the papers look dark. I need to finish the inside so I can get it listed. I know kind of late to be listing Halloween cards ---- but hopefully there are others out there like me who don't get cards sent until AFTER the holiday!

Have a great weekend!!

Betty Witch

Happy Monday! Now there's an oxymoron! LOL! Mondays are just not good now that I work. But I had a terrific weekend ....the weather was beautiful & the boys & I went to the local park Saturday night for the JackOLantern Jaunt. We'd never been but I'm glad we went this year! Tons of people & businesses carve pumpkins & they line them up in the park & light them up when it gets dark. They decorated the pavilion, had music & goodies to eat & drink. We were there for 3 hours! That will definitely be a yearly event for us from now on!

On to the card.....I have been very careful about my spending, but I just had to get this adorable witch from 7 Kids College Fund. She's Betty Witch from Pink Cat Studios, & the set (called "Witch") comes with another Betty stamp & a sentiment. Only $6.99! What a deal! I love the little Itties & hope to get them all!!

I stamped the image onto shimmery white paper which of course you can't tell because I'm a crappy photographer! Trust me, it's sparkly pretty :) I used Copic markers & Prismas to color her, & cut her out with my Nesties Labels 9. The papers are Recollections from last year....the sentiment came from my computer ....some Primas....some stitching....a charm....& a black bow which is way too big but it's glue dotted on so it's staying!!

I did decorate the inside & made an envelo-box.....& it is currently listed on Ebay. In case ya need a cute little witchy Halloween card :)

Well I am off. I need to change my bedtime routine. Or my drugs. One or the other. I am soooo tired (literally) of getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I have such anxiety that I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning & my mind just starts going. I miss the days when I could easily sleep 8-9 hours & not wake up once!! Getting old sucks!!

Thanks for visiting & have a great week!

Witchy mouse

Good Thursday afternoon to you all!! Gorgeous fall day out here in Wisconsin! In fact we have been having EXTRAORDINARY weather lately!! But wow are we infested with box elder beetles (we like to call them harvest bugs in our house, lol). They are *everywhere*, I can't even open my front door without them dive-bombing my head! They are harmless & I can think of a lot ookier bugs out there.....& it's fun to watch my 15 year old cats suddenly become kittens again with all those beetles flying around!! Hours of entertainment for a feline!

Well my photo didn't turn out that great but I can't spend any more time on it. Reds & purples....my camera hates those colors! I can't seem to get it right in my photo editor either, so it is what it is. The stamp is Penny Black Witchy Mouse --one of my favorite Halloween stamps ever!! There wasn't much to color but I did make it 3D so it was still a lot of work, lol!! If you read my blog you know how much I LOVE to cut (rolling my eyes). Added some sponging & some stitching & a charm.....all very spooky :)

Ok I have about 10 minutes of quiet before my kids come home & a ton of things to do so I'm off! Thanks for visiting, & for being patient with my very sporadic posting!! I appreciate all who visit!!
