Pie Tilda

Hi all -- happy Monday. Well it's almost Tuesday. So it's really almost the middle of the week. Wow, that went fast!

So I got my package from Stamp & Create last week, & I could NOT wait to ink up this cutie~

This is Pie Tilda -- although I see no pie. But I love her anyway (although I'd love her more if she had pie!) I also used my bench stamp for the first time since I bought it last year. I really thought I would use that more. Hmmm maybe it's because my stamp area has become total chaos & I forget what I have. I had organized it at one time .....but I'm usually spent by the time I finally finish a card so I just leave it be till I can get around to cleaning it up ..... which is usually never ....

ANYWAY --- I stamped her onto Cryogen Shimmery White paper (thanks Dianne, for reminding me how awesome this paper is with Copics!) I hate masking -- so I cut Tilda out (she almost got a new 'do -- it wasn't easy cutting around those piggie tails!) & set her on the bench. I was really excited to use my new Butterfly Circles Nestie that I got ON SALE at Joann today ~ I' hadn't bought any Nesties in a while, I couldn't decide which to get! Papers are DCWV Old School -- sentiment is Papertrey Ink --

I was hoping to catch the glimmer of the paper -- but let's face it I'm a stamper not a photographer!

And can I just say -- I'm trying really hard to use grays more when coloring -- I know it's how you get really good shadows -- & I've read the tutorials -- but I just can NOT use that much gray, lol. It turns out great for others -- but my hand just won't let me add as much gray as I should -- I'm really trying -- it looked like I added a lot when I was coloring this -- but I see now that I really didn't. I feel like I'm ruining the image if I add too much gray. It's all a learning process...

I'm entering this into these challenges:

Just Magnolia -- Use a doily (store bought or die cut)
Totally Tilda -- Tilda with die cuts & punches
Simon Says Stamp -- Use 3 different papers
Papertake Weekly -- Get Krafty

Thanks for visiting!

Here's the dirt!

Hello all ....long time no see! Today I have another High Hopes "oldie but goodie". I treasure all my High Hopes stamps -- I amassed quite a collection in the 3 years I was on the dt -- & have been slowly revisiting them all.

This is "Tidy Up Tillie" -- with her matching sentiment. But here's the funny part about the sentiment -- I printed this one on the computer. I don't think I have the sentiment -- although I was on the design team at the time of this release, so I *should* have gotten it -- but I sure can't find it. Well, I used the same font so you probably never would have known if I hadn't told you :)

Tillie is colored with pencils -- the papers are Basic Grey Marrakech - lots of punched flowers & that wonderful crinkle ribbon. Here's something funny - the corner die is from Quickutz. It's discontinued. I paid more than I should have to get it on Ebay. Guess what? Whimsy Stamps just released a set of 4 dies --- for $8!!! For crying out loud --- that's way less than I paid for the ONE flippin' die! Argh --- I should have known to wait -- but I had to have it & caved. Ah well -- if you like this die & wasn't dumb enough to pay way too much on Ebay -- go check out the NEW Corner Dies Set HERE.

I really needed something for the empty spot UNDER the die -- & as usually I thought of brads AFTER the card was put together -- so instead I punched 3 navy circles -- & added Clear Glaze -- VOILA -- faux brads :)

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Allsorts --Anything goes
The Crazy Challenge -- Use a die or punch
Simon Says Stamp -- Use 3 papers

One more thing before I go ..... I've been really good with not buying anything new...I figure if I don't have time to use it why should I buy it? Then I went in search of a Doohickey die I *had* to have -- a lot of my usual online stores don't carry them anymore. So I went to Stamp & Create. Lacey & I have been friends since we were on the High Hopes dt together -- she is such a sweetheart! And while I have perused her store many times, shamefully, I've never ordered. Well I ordered this week because she had the die I wanted -- & while looking around at the Magnolia stamps I decided to splurge a bit. A belated Christmas gift to myself, lol. She had things in stock everyone else is out of. And -- the best part -- I ordered on Sunday. Monday was a holiday so she shipped it on Tuesday & I got it TODAY. I'm so thrilled & can't wait to play ...let's see....according to my schedule I should have 20 minutes of free time next week Tuesday! Seriously, though -- I hear so many complaints about prices....customer service....shipping....& I just want to say that Lacey has awesome prices & FREE shipping over $55! Check out here store HERE! PS --- she carries High Hopes stamps :)

Thanks for visiting & I hope you have a FAB weekend!!!

Sundays with Crissy ~ Happy Birthday

Hello & welcome to my day at Sundays with Crissy! Our theme this month is birthdays ~ so come join us & post your birthday card or project!

For my card today I used Retired Raymond & It 's Your Day sentiment from High Hopes. I colored Raymond with colored pencils, AFTER tossing the one I colored with Copics. That one was a major fail. It's really an ongoing learning process for me. The papers are K&Co Julianne & Basic Grey Pyrus. I kept the card fairly simple since it's a MAN card -- no flowers on this one -- just a bit of raffia & some brads (brads that I thought to add AFTER putting the card together).

Please check out all the talent over at Sundays with Crissy ~ & definitely post your birthday card or project over there!

Have a super week!

Ebay auctions

Just a quick note to let you know I listed some items on Ebay ~ I am cleaning house ~ including my stamp area ~ & will list things as I go. I haven't gotten very far yet ~ just a few stamps & even some cards ~ but there will be more to come! Keep an eye out, I might just have that stamp you've been looking for :)

I do state in my auctions that I only ship to the US & Canada, but if you are located somewhere else & would really like to bid on something, email me & I will find out how much the shipping is. I kind of gave up on international shipping a long time ago, but I would do it for you :)

Lemon Cheese Bars

I know, I KNOW!!! I'm posting way more recipes than cards these days. I'm sorry, I don't know what's come over me. Oh wait, yes I do .... PINTEREST!

So many gosh darn good ideas on that site -- & it's all neat & organized & SIMPLE. I *love* simple.

Ok -- actually this recipe is NOT one I found on Pinterest -- I've had it a while. But who knows -- maybe it will find its way there somehow :)

Lemon Cheese Bars

1 package (18.75 oz) yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon extract

In a bowl, combine the dry cake mix, one egg & oil until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup for topping. Press the remaining crumb mixture into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; add the sugar, extract & remaining egg. Spread over crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate leftovers.

Another super easy recipe that turned out FANTASTIC!! They were gone pretty quickly :)

I went to a Pampered Chef party last night -- talk about good eats!! I bought a few gifts for myself :)  & I can't wait to get them. The unglazed stoneware is on sale this month so I had to get the large bar pan. I have all the other stoneware & *love* it. I bought a few other goodies as well -- can't wait to test them out. I think I'm going to have a catalog party myself in the next month or so --- if you are interested in ordering something -- please let me know. I still have to work out the details with my consultant, but I think all I would need is your email address so she can send you the info. I've had a party at my house in the past, & while they are great fun it seemed to be a lot of work for me -- plus the expense of the food -- so this time around I'm going the catalog party route :)

I hope you all are having a great weekend -- another super day for us here -- & they predict upper 30's & 40's for the coming week. Now THIS is how winter in Wisconsin should *always* be :)
