High Hopes challenge #32

Happy Sunday everyone!! Hope you're having a fantastic Memorial weekend so far!! The weather is beautiful here, & I'm hoping to get lots done outside today!!

Today's High Hopes challenge is a color combo......to use pink & brown. One of my favorites :)

I decided to ink up Mildred.....isn't she sweet with her yummy pie? I used my Copics to color her, then I cut her out & used dimensionals to attach her to her embossed background. The dotted paper is from The Paper Studio, which I bought last time I was at Hobby Lobby. And that was quite a while ago!! The sentiment is from Hero Arts....I thought it was the perfect size to then cut out & hang from the ribbon like a charm. I punched some flowers & added a button for the corner, & called it done. Now looking at it, I wish I had sewn the edges.....but I had to squeeze this in before we left for the day yesterday & there just wasn't time.

Here's a close up of Mildred.....I still can't color/shade as well with my Copics as I can with my pencils, but practice makes perfect, right? I think I need to start adding other media for added shading.....

And now for some other pictures I want to share!!! If you're not interested.....I'm not offended, lol.....just consider this your warning that the rest of this post is photos from our farm trip on Friday!

The kids got to hold just about every animal there. Well, the ones that were smaller than they are, lol. Here's Michael holding a beautiful chicken. Doesn't he look proud that he was actually able to get one, while all the other kids were running around trying to grab one?

And here he is holding an eensy weensy baby chick. Or is it a duck? He got to hold both & I can't really tell from this picture! It was very nerve-wracking having these kindergartners grabbing these babies. I sounded like a broken record, yelling "be gentle!" every 5 seconds! Those poor animals!

I was fascinated by this baby llama. I can't remember how old they said it was, but it didn't move the entire time we were looking at it, like it was paralyzed. I guess it was just as interested in the kids as the kids were in it! I think it's sooooo cute!

Here's Michael milking a cow!! I can't believe I actually got the stream of milk in the picture, lol. The kids were going through the line so fast I just snapped as soon as it was his turn. He was highly amused & wanted to do it again, while some of the kids were on the bench crying, not wanting to go anywhere near that "thing that spits milk"!

And here he is standing in front of that cow. Actually, I don't think he was posing. I think he was waiting for the farmer to say "Michael, do you want to milk the cow again?"

We had a great time.....it was supposed to rain but luckily it didn't. At the end they let the kids jump in a barn FULL of hay.....you should have seen all the hay that was flying. I was so busy talking to another mom that I didn't think to get a picture of it...that definitely would have been the Photo of the Day!!

Well if you made it this far, thank you for checking out my pictures!! I'm so glad I was able to go. If you have a petting farm in your area, you should definitely go!!! The kids love it!!!

Have a great Sunday!!

I love your card Michelle, your coloring on Mildred looks like your pencils, and at first I thought it was! Til I read differently! Love how you used the Swiss Dots all over. I also love how you put the sentiment on the tiny oval and it really does look like a charm!
Uber cute pics of Michael, he looks SO proud, and fearless too! I bet he wants to be a dairy farmer when he grows up after this? Thanks for sharing!

Awwww, great pictures of Michael! I'm sure our 4-year-old would have been hoping for the farmer to ask her "if she would like to milk the cow again" too!

You can't go wrong with pink and brown...love that combo too!

What a great card! I haven't inked her up yet...but I really should soon! She's really nice in color!
Looks and sounds like you all had tons of fun on your field trip. My kids love farm animals. Ansley learned how to say "cow" before she could say "dog"..you would think we live near Anna instead of the becah!! LOL

I think Mildred looks lovely with her pie and like you I find shading with Copics not that easy so I often add other mediums as well... works fine for me :). Love the pictures of your little boy at the farm. He looks so proud on the one in front of the cow :). Looks like he had an amazing day!!
