Want a good laugh?????

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday! We went to our city's parade, which is always lots of fun ~~ they throw TONS of candy for the kids, they hand out popsicles & water bottles, the weather was perfect ~~ just a very fun parade all around. I spent most of the day yesterday simultaneously working outside in my garden, & organizing my stamping area. Then we went to the Expo to see the most awesome fireworks!! We *love* fireworks!! It was a long day ~~ we didn't get home until after 10:30, & we were up pretty early, but it was such fun :)

Since I still haven't finished that 3rd card yet, let's discuss organization. Or rather, my lack of it. I said I spent part of the day yesterday organizing my stamp area. I have a small space, about 1/2 wall in our rec room. It probably measures about 9' x 5'. Which is better than what I started out with, a shoe box in my closet. I'm grateful for my space. But as I was buying things, I was setting them down next to me on the table or the floor. I didn't see anything wrong with it, I knew where everything was & it was all within reach. Then my friend came over a few weeks ago so we could stamp some images from each other. Even though she never said a word about my mess ~~ she even said hers is worse ~~ I suddenly looked at my space with new eyes. Nobody EVER sees my space, since it's in the rec room & only my hubby & I & the boys go down there. But now my friend saw it. And this is what she saw..........

You probably think I'm nuts for sharing these pictures! You will probably lose any respect you had for me (if any!!). Trust me, the rest of my house is organized (well, sort of ~ we have a few toys lying about). This is one area I have just completely ignored as far as putting things where they should go. That's because they HAD nowhere to go!! All this week I've been buying organizational cubes at Michael's, plus a 3 tier shelf at Target, so I'm *almost* there. I need one or two more cubes, then I'll be done. I realize I should probably wait until I'm able to post the "after" pictures, but this way you have a few days to digest how bad it really was!!! And for all of you less-than-organized readers, this will probably make you feel a lot better about your space!!! See how selfless I am??

I will be gone most of the day today but I'm still hoping to finish that 3rd High Hopes card AND finish organizing ~~ I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!! And can I just say how excited I am that I've already had over 500 hits?? My worst fear when I started this blog is that I would be talking to myself! Good to know that's not happening!!!!!

How did you get into my house to take that picture? Seriously...there is only so much you can do with such a small space. Now...I've been going through the same thing trying to organize but I do realize that it is not until I have my own room (when either my 20 or 16 year old moves out) that I'll be able to be as organized as I'd like. My husband doesn't seem to mind (as long as his area can be messy too!)so...I'm letting it go for now!

Have a super day and can't wait to see your card!

My space looks worse than that! :) And I don't create beautiful works like you do. Oh I had a question - where are the Circus stamps on the High Hopes site? I don't see them when I type in HOTP. Thanks!

Ha ha! Michelle, you are in good company! You'd be surprised at how many of us stampers have stamping spaces as messy as yours! Don't feel bad! :D

Thanks for sharing, though, and for making the rest of us feel less bad about our own mess, knowing WE are in good company!

Its pretty bad when I have to read your blog to catch up on the latest happenings, especially when I only live a few miles away. Can't wait to see the "organized" space.

Well Michelle...that is a big mess!!...but...mine looks the same and sometimes even worse. Half the time I spend more time looking for things than creating. And I tell ya...when I try to get organized and put things away....then I really lose them...go figure...
Sounds like you had a great day!! I love fireworks ...but there are none here till Aug 1st weekend!!

WOW Michelle I can't believe your stamp area is this messy! ;) Ya know I'm joking with you right?!

When I first started I had a small table in our unfinished basement. Then I migrated into one of the corners... now I took over half of it. It's still unfinished but I like how I have it set up. Pretty soon you'll probably take over the whole rec room area! LOL

I can't wait to see your after photos!

I would not be embarrassed about your space at all.....I think the majority of people have a "mess" going in their stamping areas.

My only complaint is that I can't enlarge the pictures on your blog so I can see all your stuff up close!

Can't wait for the after pictures too!

Don't feel bad - Mine was WORSE! It's come a long way over the last three weeks. Still quite a ways to go. You can see the pics of my space on my blog "stampyourselfsilly.blogspot.com". I can wait to see your after pictures and try and glean some ideas from you. Your cards are fabulous!

Oh Michelle, you should see mine!! I'm tucked into the computer room right now while we wait to start reno's and moves. Our 13yr old son is moving to the bsmt, so we have to redo that room as it WAS my (pink) craft room, then our daughter will move to his room, my craft room will then move to her room. So it's like domino's I guess, once it starts, we'll have to keep moving till it's finished!
