Summer!!

Summer days are just about here & I can't wait!! Just a few more days of school....then no more getting up early & rushing around....no more homework....no more concerts....no more Scouts....the only scheduled thing we have going on is baseball & the break will be so nice! But...check back in a month...I'm sure I'll be ready for school to start!!

This darling is called Kickin' from Penny Black & it is THE perfect summer image!! My LSS recently started selling Amuse stamps, so I got to stock up on some of my favorite sentiments. I've never owned an Amuse sentiment before so it's pretty exciting for me!! I used Copics to color the image & cut it out with my oval Nesties. The papers are a mix of Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety & DCWV Citrus. I used this week's Friday Sketchers sketch for the layout & added a ton of flowers & stitching. I was ready to throw my sewing machine out the window halfway through.....I was using the zig zag stitch, but only got a zag in some places!! So I had to go back & restitch some parts by hand. I think it's time for a new machine!!

Here's a close up of the image.....I paper pieced the hammock, mostly because I didn't like how I colored it, lol. But I think it turned out kinda cool...wish I had a hammock like that! Heck, I wish I had a hammock of any kind!!

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist & sponged the edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I'd *really* like the Monarch punch but am having trouble finding it in the stores here! I didn't realize that baby was so popular!

I also sprayed all the flowers & leaves with the Glimmer Mist....not sure you can see the shimmer but maybe if you click on it!!

Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you all had a great Memorial weekend! We had 4 days off & it was great.....was a bit lazy.....gotta practice being lazy for all those summer days, lol!!

PS: My M's had plenty of those Monarch punches last time I was there so if you'd like me to use a coupon on it and then send it to you let me know, not a prob :0)

Hi Michelle, this is a cute image, looks like something I would like to be doing. Great job, still like the stitching even though you had a little mishap. I just got a new sewing maching. Now I just need to familiarize myself with it. I can relate to your comments about summer break. My son got out last week. I love being with him, but in about 1 month I'll be hearing "hey Mom" about 100 times a day. Hugs, Rea
