Put on your shades!

This is a bright one!! This is actually my 4th attempt at a card today. I don't love it, but I don't hate it.....it is what it is. Everything I touched today turned to garbage. I couldn't color right, I couldn't cut right, my sewing machine isn't working right....sigh....it all matches my mood. More about my mood later....

I was so happy to receive my Magnolia Spring Club Kit last week!! This is one of the images from that kit, isn't Tilda sweet? I wanted to play with SCS's sketch challenge from last week.....preferably before they posted the new one! I used DCWV's Citrus stack.....very bright!! But very springy, & since it is rainy & yucky here, & since it IS spring now, & since Tilda is holding flowers.....the Citrus stack it was. Colored with Prismas & gamsol.....punched all the flowers from various punches....& added some gold dots to the corners. I was so very frustrated & spent by the time I was done....I didn't have it in me to finish the inside.

So why am I crabby? Because we recently found out that my husband will probably be laid off from his job. I know....it's nothing thousands & thousands of others aren't going through as well. I thought we were prepared.....paying off CC's, watching our spending....but when it's "real"....when it's right there in front of you, you don't feel prepared at all. It's not definite, but they are shutting down the first week of April, & that Monday after many people are going to be shown the door. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a FT job. But as you know, I'm just a sub in the school district, very part time. I was hoping to keep it up so I could hopefully be hired eventually as a permanent employee. Now everything is up in the air....we just have to wait & see what happens....cross your fingers & toes & all your other crossable parts for us!!!

Despite my saying I wasn't going to list on Ebay anymore....I have listed a couple of cards. I'm also trying to add to my Etsy shop.....& I'm going to go through my stamps to see what I can sell. I have so many SU retired sets that I just had to have, but I have to face facts....I just don't use SU stamps. Sorry if that offends anyone...I love their paper....but I am up to my eyeballs in High Hopes stamps, that I just don't need other stamps. My love affair with Magnolia & Penny Black will never end.....but I do need to sell what I don't use. I will keep you posted on what I have, if I list it, or if I will just sell it through here. Thanks for listening to my pitiful rant!!

Have a great night!!

Oh, Michelle! I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job. I will keep everything crossed and also pray for you and your family that he is able to keep his job.

I know what it's like. We have been waiting for the ax to fall for a long time. It's not easy for anybody right now. Let's all hope things improve very soon.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job. No matter how many people are going through this it is never easy. I pray that God is closing a door but opening a window (to quote a line from my favorite musical). I know in my district we often hire subs who have done a good job for us so maybe that will work out for you. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Best wishes,
Deana

Your card ended up being very beautiful...well worth the effort you put in.
I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job, I will pray for you. It seems like the HH Diva's have been hit hard! First Nikki, then Niki, now you...and Scott (my husband) would be laid off if he wasn't willing to move!
I know everything will work out for you. Big hugs!!

Hi Michelle! We all have those cardmaking days that are so frustrating because nothing seems to work - you are not alone in that. So sorry to hear about your husband's job - we are all here if you need to talk about it - and hope we can support you as much as possible.
BTW, your card is gorgeous - bright and happy. It made me smile as soon as I saw it :-)

Hi Michelle. I haven't been blog hopping for awhile so this comes as a bit of a shock to me. I am sorry to read this news. I hope it doesn't actually touch you and your family. I am hoping and praying for the best for you. Bless your heart.

Your card is just lovey..so fresh and springy. Love this new Tilda! I am so sorry to hear about the job front and hope that it works out for you and your family. It is not easy. I hope you manage to get some of your stuff sold ..I know what it is like. i think we are all feeling the pinch and crafting is a luxury not a necessity (well apart from keeping our sanity!!).

Big hugs to you

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job! You are in my thought and prayers. My husband had a huge meeting with his company too. They are going the second phase of trying to make ends meet. First they all had to take mandatory vacation weeks. Second they all received pay cuts. The next phase is layoffs. I am praying real hard!!!

Your card is adorable!!

Michelle, I'm thinking about you! We had the same thing happen to us last fall and luckily DH found another job quickly. It is absolutely scarey -- just hang in and, like the card, it is what it is. (BTW, I ADORE your card. Think it's gorgeous! I just inked that Tilda yesterday too!) Stand tough!
